Players may join the ladder by contacting the program coordinator (lamontcreektennis@gmail.com)
and providing their email address, phone number, which will be shared with other ladder participants. Once the program starts, new players will be added to the bottom of the ladder.
OTA rules must be followed during any match.
A match consists of two shortened sets, first to 4 games wins.
Each set is no-add scored, with sides switched on odd games as usual. If a game reaches deuce, the receiver chooses whether to receive on the deuce or add side.
If both players win one set, a 7-point tie-break must be played to determine the winner.
The winner is responsible for submitting the scores to the program coordinator.
Players move up the ladder by challenging someone up to 3 positions above them.
A successful challenge means the challenger takes the position of the player they challenged, with all players between them moving down one position.
If the challenge is unsuccessful, no change occurs.
A 2-week wait is required before challenging the same player again.
The challenger is responsible for contacting the other player to arrange the match via phone, email, or in person. Matches should be set within 7 days. If the challenged player does not respond within 5 days, the challenger will be declared the winner and will move up the ladder.
Matches must be arranged using the contact details provided by the program coordinator.
The challenger provides a new can of balls for the match.
Players should aim to complete a match every 2 weeks, or they will be moved down 2 positions (except for the player in first place). Exceptions will be made for vacation, illness, or injury.
Matches should be completed within 1.5 hours, including warm-up (limited to 5 minutes) and the tiebreaker.
The winner is determined by the best of two sets (first to 4 games). If the sets are split, a 7-point tiebreaker will decide the winner.
A player who is more than 15 minutes late or does not show up will forfeit the match.
Two forfeits result in removal from the ladder.
The results of the match should be reported to the program coordinator, who will update the ladder accordingly.
If a player is unavailable to accept a challenge, their name should be marked as “N/A” (Not Available) until they are ready to play.
Please keep the program coordinator informed of your availability.
Players can use any tennis court of their choice.
If playing at Lamont Creek Tennis Courts, be mindful of time slots reserved for other Lamont Creek Tennis Club programs.
(Available slots for singles play: Monday and Friday mornings from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.)
When using the LC courts, please mark the court/time/date on the singles spreadsheet so other players are aware.

Enjoy the game! Be fair, honest, and treat others as you would like to be treated.
